We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support the monthly/quarterly/annual financial close and financial reporting processes for a STAT basis insurance company and a GAAP basis management company. The Senior Accountant will focus primarily on financial reporting but will be expected to assist in operational/budgeting and ad hoc accounting projects as needed. This role will report directly to the Financial Reporting Director. Responsibilities Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close for insurance entity (STAT basis) and management company (GAAP basis) Prepare account reconciliations and process journal entries. Prepare variance analysis to explain fluctuations in key accounts. Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and disclosures. Interact with external auditors to provide explanations/support for financial statement audits. Participate in the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of policies and procedures and internal controls. Support Financial Reporting Director in preparation of materials for quarterly Board reporting (slide deck, industry highlights, etc.) Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting Minimum 3 years of experience (either public accounting or in industry) Experience in both GAAP and STAT reporting for insurance companies Must be very proficient in Microsoft Excel Must possess strong financial accounting/general ledger skills and understanding. Ability to read, understand, process and evaluate large amounts of technical information and make related, informed decisions. Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 annually based on experience Schedule: We offer flexible work hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with options like 8–4, 8:30–4:30, or 9–5. We do our best to support individual preferences, though schedules may be adjusted as needed to ensure strong coverage and teamwork. We also offer a hybrid schedule: team members work onsite four days a week and can work remotely one day a week.
