range for this role is:$103,477.92 -
$175,783.92Responsibilities:The Manager, Category Insights is
responsible for leading customer-specific category management
deliverables, with specific emphasis on actionable category and
shopper insights that drive the business for our customers and Del
Monte.The position is the go-to category management expert for the
assigned Zone sales team, including in-depth category, consumer,
and shopper responsibilities include business analytics, supporting
selling efforts, creating category reviews designed to grow our
customers' categories, providing business insights to the assigned
Zone sales team, among others.He/She provides insights on customer
and Zone business performance, collaborating with key stakeholder
on drivers of business performance.This leader ensures key
consumer, industry, and category trends are shared internally and
externally.This individual has very strong technical, analytic,
storytelling and data visualization is able towork effectively with
customers to sell ideas, share insights, and partner closely with
retailer customers.This person is highly adept at traditional
category management principles including space and shelf
management, merchandising, pricing and assortment analyses.This
manager supports DMFI's capabilities in building, maintaining, and
drawing insights from syndicated and retailer POS and shopper card
data with speed, agility, and efficiency.Key Responsibilities
Include:
- Collaborates with assigned Zone leader and sales managers to
identify and address business development opportunities including
new items launches and Del Monte business building initiatives
- Develops and delivers category reviews to customers,
identifying current state of the business, identifying
opportunities, and making recommendations to grow the customer's
category and Del Monte brand sales
- Leverages all available data and tools to connect and support
the relevance of our retail recommendations
- Establishes broader relationships within/across assigned
customer(s) and nurtures those relationships to influence retailer
execution and Del Monte gains
- Actively partners with broader Category Insights team,
Marketing, Customer Marketing and Field Sales to share learning
agenda topics and subsequent research interpretation and
activation
- Collaborates cross-functionally and shares findings and
analyses
- Consultatively provides category expertise by maintaining
up-to-date fluency with category, shopper and retail trends and
best practices
- Proactively identifies insights from consumer and/or shopper
behavior and translates their implications into retailer action
that grows sales; broadly shares with others
- Acts as the category insights expert and key point of contact
for the Zone team members; Educates others, both internally and
externally, about key business enablers including research, tools,
case studies and subject matter experts
- Actively engaged in educating others (up, down, across and
outside organization) by sharing best practices and insights so
that our successes are broadly repeated
- Acts as a partner to Zone Sales Leaders; is a significant and
regular contributor on staff calls with the intent of educating
business development managers and cross functional partners in
category and brand insights, best-in-class practices based on
analyses, and business performance and drivers

- College Degree preferred
- 4+ years of industry or relevant experience
- Strong computer proficiency in Retailer POS, Syndicated and
Panel data, Microsoft Excel, Circana and/or Nielsen, and
proficiency in Power Point as well as other Microsoft Office
applications
- Experience in utilizing shopper card data systems such as EYC,
Stratum, IRI Gateway, Dunnhumby, and others
- Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving
skills
- Strong data visualization and storytelling capabilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as
strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent attitude with a strong team-orientation
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to learn
