Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience: Must have experience in coding with ICD and CPT. Knowledge of medical terminology. Associate s degree in Health Information Management preferred Mandatory skills/certification(s) Requirement: Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician. Associates degree in Health Information management Desired skills: Able to code diagnosis and services rendered from paper charts using ICD and CPT nomenclature. Knowledge of Health Information Management Duties/Responsibilities: code diagnosis and services using ICD and CPT nomenclature and classification. Handle or process request for medical record information. Job Duties in brief Code diagnosis and services from the chart using ICD and CPT nomenclature and classification. Quantitative analysis of discharged chart for completeness. Copy records to respond to request for patient’s Health information with required proof. Assemble large amount of documents in a specific order, keep information confidential. Must be able to answer questions clearly and respond to phone calls. Must be able to write responses to question in reports and in email.
