Position Purpose Perform imaging procedures at a technical level requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Key Responsibilities - Perform CT procedures using established protocols, including contrast administration. - Operate advanced imaging equipment for acquisition, analysis, and documentation of image data. - Ensure accurate coding, tracking, and archiving of exams; enter charges appropriately. - Administer oral, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders and assess patient risk factors. - Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and ease concerns. - Apply independent judgment to adjust protocols for optimal diagnostic results. - Demonstrate strong teamwork and patient-centered care with dignity and respect. - Verify patient identity using two identifiers and follow universal protocol. - Document patient history and maintain accurate electronic records. - Perform venipuncture and operate power injectors per department standards. Apply today and join a team that values your expertise, supports your growth, and rewards your dedication. - Education: - Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program. - Certification Requirements: - ARRT registry eligible technologists must obtain ARRT certification within 6 months of hire. - CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of obtaining the primary registry or date of hire if already certified. - CNMT graduates must obtain CNMT registry within 6 months of hire. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances - Required Certifications: - ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist or CNMT certification. - CT registry within required timeframe. - CPR or BLS certification (AHA standards including didactic and skills demonstration) within 30 days of hire. - Additional Requirements: - All CT Technologists working in NY facilities performing contrast media injection must be certified by ARRT or NMTCB and licensed through the New York State Department of Health. - Mandatory Clearances: - Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting (with renewal) - Act 33 (with renewal) - Act 34 (with renewal) - Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal) UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
