Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Mental Health - Discipline: Therapy - Start Date: 03/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Art Therapist Trenton, NJ Guaranteed Hour: 40 Time Type: 7:00am-3:30pm (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) Unit Description Mental Health Inpatient Additional Information Art Therapist – Mental Health Inpatient Unit Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week Mandatory every other weekend rotation Requirements: AHA BLS certification required Must be licensed or certified as an Art Therapist Minimum one (1) year of previous experience in a behavioral health setting Essential Functions Conducts allied therapy and psychoeducational groups, primarily providing group psychotherapy using therapeutic interventions that facilitate both non-verbal and verbal communication. Performs comprehensive clinical assessments and develops individualized treatment plans to promote stabilization and recovery in adult and geriatric psychiatric populations. Completes allied clinical therapy assessments for admitted patients and maintains accurate, timely documentation of all services rendered. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary treatment team in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans. Provides patient education, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support as needed. Orders and maintains group therapy supplies within established budget parameters, at the discretion of the manager. Communicates and coordinates care with representatives of other disciplines to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.
