Job Description Essex Animal Hospital is a small animal practice that specializes in the care of Dogs and Cats. We are looking for professionals to work in a fast-pace veterinary hospital. The individual applying should have excellent customer service skills, outstanding communication skills, be organized and detailed oriented. We are looking for team players who are problem solvers. The ideal candidate would be compassionate, a quick learner and self-motivated. We are a busy hospital with a high volume of clients, therefore we require a person who has the ability to remain calm, confident and focused in stressful situations and able to prioritize tasks in a calm, organized manner. The candidate is required to have basic computer skills. Prior experience working with scheduling and/ or customer service experience is a preferred. Prior veterinary or medical office experience is preferred but not required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, checking patients in and out of the hospital, handling client invoices, handling payments, answering multiple phone lines, client education, relaying communications between doctors and clients, scheduling appointments for exams and various procedures. We are looking for candidates with the ability to work evenings and weekends and relief for other receptionists on an as needed basis. Compensation is dependent upon experience.
