Insp?r Carnegie Hill is located on the Upper East Side and stands 23 stories with 215 residential units. It offers assisted living, enhanced care and memory care with a unique and innovative Integrated Care Model. The Laundry Attendant Role:  Launders culinary linens, bed linens, select associate uniforms, as well as washing residents’ laundry to individual specifications.  Provides a constant supply of clean linen for the dining rooms and residence floors, and cleans residents’ personal item following specific instructions for laundering and drying.

• Picks up used linens/laundry/uniforms from designated areas
• Delivers clean linens/laundry to appropriate location
• Sorts all linens and treats stains, loads all laundry into washer and adds specified cleaning agents
• Takes wet, clean items and dries as directed
• Sorts and folds or hangs clean dried items, using ironer as needed
• Maintains inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicates needs to housekeeping supervisor
• Maintains all laundry equipment and informs chief engineer as to any maintenance needs
• Performs additional laundry services when necessary
• Participates in on-going in-service and training requirements
• Follows emergency procedures
• Understands the safety practices and procedures
• Carries out other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Licensure/Requirements: 

• High school diploma or equivalent required 
• Must possess a passion for working with the senior population and improving their quality of life 
• Able to convey and understand information and ideas in English
• Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
• Work well in stressful, high pressure situations?and be able to maintain composure and objectivity  
• Be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by?residents and guests??
• Able to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers and other staff members? 
• Must be authorized to legally work in the United States.  Criminal background check required?
