Schedule: Full-Time - 2nd Shift (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM) - On-Site Only

We're working with a premier global financial services company to fill a critical Data Center Technician role in their high-security data center located in Carteret, NJ. Requirements:

1-4 years of experience working in a large-scale data center environment


Comfortable with the physical demands of the job: lifting/moving servers, equipment, and cabling


Proven experience with:

Installing and decommissioning servers and networking hardware


Complex cabling (CAT6, fiber optics, structured wiring in ceilings/racks)


LAN troubleshooting (Layers 1-3)


Performing break/fix maintenance (BIOS, drives, memory, RAID controllers)




Familiarity with data center management tools and inventory systems (DCIM software)


Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision


Must have reliable transportation - this site is not easily accessible by public transit



Responsibilities:

Install and maintain server and network infrastructure in data center cabinets and racks


Execute patch cabling for CAT6 and fiber connections


Troubleshoot LAN connectivity issues across physical and logical layers


Conduct hands-on break/fix repairs on enterprise server and network hardware


Monitor and record cabinet-level power consumption


Manage equipment inventory and maintain organization within the data center


Document processes, procedures, and best practices


Support ongoing infrastructure projects and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams



Note: This role requires daily presence at the data center in Carteret, NJ. Candidates must be local or willing to commute reliably.
