City, State: New York, New York Pay Range: $22.63 - $25.63 hourly Title: Host/ Hostess Location: New York, NY FLSA: Non-Exempt Status: Part-time Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager Pay Range: $22.63 - $25.63 hourly Job Summary: Interlude Rooftop Lounge located in Hampton/Home2 Times square is looking for a qualified Host/Hostess. The Host/ Hostess is responsible for welcoming guests to the dining establishment and escorting them to their seats in a professional and courteous manner. This role includes managing seating arrangements, assisting with reservations, and ensuring guests have a positive dining experience. Essential Functions and Duties : Greets guests and escorts them to their seats in a courteous manner. Presents menus and answers guest questions regarding the food and service. Manages seating arrangements based on restaurant activity and reservations. Performs opening and closing duties, ensuring the restaurant is ready for service. Ensure that tables are clean, set up properly, and well-maintained during service Collaborate with bar staff to ensure smooth and efficient service Assists food and beverage staff with side-work and setup as needed. Maintains knowledge of operating hours, menu items, promotions, and specials to assist guests. Responds to guest inquiries and ensures their needs are met efficiently. Creates and manages reservations using the property reservation system. Maintains seating charts and confirms reservations, including large parties and special requests. Ensures a clean and organized work environment at all times . May assist with the setup and cleaning of function rooms when necessary. Follow all company policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional. Must wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with the Standards of Appearance. Maintains regular attendance, is consistently on time, and observes prescribed work, break and meal periods in compliance with standards. Attends department meetings and completes assigned projects. Required Experience, Education, and Skills: Prior customer service experience, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality environment. Ability to manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with guests professionally. Knowledge of restaurant operations, menu offerings, and promotions. Ability to perform basic arithmetic for tasks such as totaling costs and making change . Strong organizational skills and attention to detail . Ability to stand and walk for long periods . Work Environment : Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally. Requires working in an indoor environment, with some exposure to temperature changes depending on operational needs.
